By Train

In 1987 Almere was connected to the national railway system (see NS) in 1988 with the fully completed Flevolijn which connected Weesp to Lelystad Centrum.Almere currently has five railway stations.Almere Muziekwijk is a railway station which lies in Almere in the Netherlands.It is located approximately 20km southeast of Amsterdam.It is on the Weesp–Lelystad railway.The station is on the newest polder in the Netherlands, the Flevopolder which is in the region Flevoland.The station was opened in 1987 when the line Weesp - Lelystad Centrum was built.In 1987 Almere Centrum and Almere Buiten stations also opened before the Almere Buiten - Lelystad section was completed in 1988.A sixth station for Almere Poort will probably open within 3 years.For now a temporary station at Almere Strand is usually set up for certain events, such as Libelle Zomerweek.

By Bus

In Almere there are 10 bus lines which service the urban area.Most buses run about every 7 minutes.The bus company that runs the buses is called Connexxion and the name of the local bus system is called Maxx Almere owned by Connexxion.In the buses one can use the national bus tickets, subscriptions or one can buy bus tickets of Maxx Almere.Besides the local bus lines there are regional bus lines to Hilversum, Zeewolde, Harderwijk, Schiphol, Amsterdam Amstel.

By Road

The traffic infrastructure in Almere is recognisable because of its separate infrastructure for cycles (which have separate cycle paths), cars and buses (In Almere the buses drive on a separate bus lane). Almere is connected to the motorways the A6 and the A27.

Sand pop festival

is a music festival since 2008, a recurring pop festival at the Almeerderstrand in the Dutch city of Almere.The festival where only Dutch artists occur next to the music also known for the Mega BBQ and the many different booths sponsored.

Holland Triathlon

The most famous triathlon in the Netherlands and since 1983 every year in Almere held.Before the Holland Triathlon twice in The Hague held.During the triathlon should be 3.8 km swim, 180 km cycling and 42.195 km run to be fast.The fast and flat course of the contest is over the years several times changed and the distance was accomplished in several top times in the nine hours by the men and within 10 hours by the women.For secondary schools, there is a triathlon.This triathlon, where the official distances are adjusted to 1/10th of the whole match, takes one day for the real triathlon instead.In 2007, the 25th anniversary edition of the Triathlon Almere place, where many former veterans enrolled in the schools triathlon.

Theater rust bucket

The theater has a room and is located in the heart of Almere Haven.The room has a flat floor, the contact is more intense with the visitor as it closer to the actors sit.The rust bucket theater program divergent views.The program complements the program of Schouwburg Almere and has 196 seats.Monthly are singer-songwriters programmed, and classical music is an integral part.New young performers on stage, and established companies.As part of the exhibitions are regularly organized a theme day where music, poets, writers enter into dialogue with the public.

The Glass recycling Theatre & Cultural Center

is a theater in Almere.The building consists mostly of glass and is therefore a bright and colorful building. The theater can hold up to 120 visitors.A building for theater and performing artists from amateur to professional, young and old. A brilliant colorful cultural center where various disciplines merge. Almere activate themselves culturally to take and they are supported, where necessary. Performing artists of all levels and all ages are rehearsals and performances provide.

The museum Pavilions

is a museum in Almere in the field of contemporary art.With exhibitions and activities, the museum shows the work of various artists.The museum The Collection Almere. This collection consists of artworks in the museum, but also works that are in the city of Almere.These are images such as Stephan Balkenhol, but also landscape works of Marinus Boezem and Daniel Libeskind.The museum was founded in 1998 by the municipality of Almere. The museum Pavilions is the successor to Aleph, an exhibition space in the basement of City Hall of Almere.The organization takes care of the municipal art collection Almere, The Collection, comprising works of art in public spaces of the city and works of art on display in City Hall or at the museum. The museum pavilions AICA certificate received in 2005.The pavilions were originally built by the Belgian architects Paul Robbrecht and Hilde Daem as temporary exhibition space for the Documenta IX in Kassel, Germany 1992. Two years later they moved to Almere-Stad, where the pavilion now serves as museum space for the Pavilions.

Kromsloot park

It's a park in Almere.West of Almere Haven was in the seventies a large empty area.This was a great nature for the residents of Almere.It had a managed ecological area.Today is a special piece of nature full of creeks, marshes, fields and forest.There are also cows, sheep and horses.All special breed, designed specifically for that area.They are friendly, pleasant and not aggressive animals.By Kromslootpark runs a bike path and many walkways.There are also picnic tables and at the beginning of a parking area.All in all it's a nice area for walking.For the bird lovers Kromslootpark is very attractive. The location of the park and a predominantly southwest-oriented migration can draw on good days here in October, thousands of birds seen pulling along. The Bird and Natuurwacht 'Southern Flevoland' has a long and close relationship with this region. For several years the club have proficiency tests. In late summer and autumn of 1984 there were 29 birds caught and ringed. In 1997 this number had risen to 54. The recent increased number of birds caught and ringed shows also that more and more to come. In the wet part of the park are a number of bird species for which the bearded tit and Bluethroat very special, due to their beautiful markings and color.

Muiderbrug Beach

is a large sandy beach and adjacent to the recreational lawns IJmeer near Almere.It is located west of the Holland Bridge on the A6 and is part of the Almeerderzand.To the east lies the Silver Strand.On the beach, various festivals and events including the annual ANWB Camping and Holidays, the Libelle Summer Week, dance festival Defqon.1 of Q-dance and pop festivals Sand.Within walking distance is the temporary railway station Almere Strand . Normally no trains stop here.Only at certain events on the schedule, a different Almeerderstrand and you can also get in and out.
