How to Reach

By Air

Changzhou Benniu Airport is approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the city center.There are flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Kunming, Harbin and Dalian.

By Train

Located just south of the Chang Jiang (Yangtze River), Changzhou is situated on the main Shanghai-Beijing rail line and is one of the main stops on the busy Shanghai-Nanjing route.

By Bus

Use of the Bus Rapid Transit System costs one yuan (or if a Changzhou Bus Card is used, either three or six jiao depending on the type of card) and provides access throughout Changzhou.The BRT has the following specifications: separate bus lanes or bus-only roadways, a vast network of routes and corridors, high capacity buses operating both outside and inside these corridors, greater passenger volume as compared to that in mixed traffic lanes (-3000 pphpd), enhanced station environments (not just simple bus shelters), automated pre-boarding fare collection and fare verification, street level boarding and alighting, low emission vehicle technology (Euro III or higher), weather protection on station platforms, centralized system controls, real-time next bus information display, a distinctive marketing identity, high-quality passenger service at bus stations, segregated bike lanes along main corridor(s) as well as station access for disabled persons.

By Road

Changzhou built its first elevated road, the "Outer Ring Elevated Road", in 2007 and it came into use in 2008.In 2009, the plan for a second elevated road became part of the city's development blueprint.

Tianning Temple

located in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China is noted for its giant wooden pagoda, the Tianning Pagoda.Construction began in April 2002 with the opening ceremony for the completed structure held on April 30, 2007, where a crowd of hundreds of Buddhist monks gathered for the ceremony.With 13 stories and a height of 153.79 metres (505 ft), this wooden pagoda is now the tallest pagoda and wooden structure in the world, taller than China's tallest existent pre-modern Buddhist pagoda, the Liaodi Pagoda built in 1055 at a height of 84 m (275 ft).Although the existing pagoda was built by April 2007, the temple grounds and the pagoda have a history of construction and destruction for the past 1,350 years, since the time of the Tang Dynasty (618–907).Building of the pagoda was proposed by the Buddhist Association of China in 2001, yet providing money donations for the temple was an international effort, as leaders of 108 Buddhist associations and temples worldwide attended the opening ceremony at the temple.

China Dinosaurs Park

also called China Dinosaurs Land is a theme park located in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China.It has been open since September, 2000.The park covers more than 600 mu (0.27 km2).As it is a theme park about dinosaurs, it is also called the "Eastern Jurassic Park".The museum contains a nearly complete fossil skeleton of the important dinosaur genus Sinosauropteryx (similar to Archaeopteryx) as well as large fossils such as those of a Brachiosaurus and a Hadrosaurus.The symbolic building in the park is the museum of dinosaurs.The museum covers about 20,000 square meters, and contains more than ten halls, including "Evolution Hall" and "Woods Hall".The first floor of the museum is taken up by the skeleton of a dinosaur.You can also see many kinds of fossils of dinosaurs in the museum.In addition, there are a lot of amusing high-fidelity game facilities.All the games are related to dinosaurs, such as "Pterodactyl's movement" and "Hot dance of the dinosaur car".Another attractive place in the park is the hot spring pool.Every year there is a big festival in the park called International Lantern Festival.

Changzhou comb

is a type of hand-painted comb produced in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China.The combs were originally made for use by royalty and have been in production for over 2000 years.Production of hand-painted combs in Changzhou dates from the Eastern Zhou (770-221 BCE), the first master was Chen Qizi.The hand-painted combs of Changzhou have been popular since the time of the Southern and Northern Dynasties.During the Qing Dynasty, local officials would send the finest combs to the palace.An ivory comb made in Changzhou is still displayed in the Forbidden City.

Hong Mei Park

There is the Hong Mei Park, which includes a small children's amusement park, a zoo, a rose garden and many scenic waterways Of historical interest in the park is a historical pavilion with exhibits related to the Changzhou comb industry.In addition, there is another pavilion which displays locally produced root carvings.The park attracts large numbers of people during holidays and is often dotted with a variety of vendors.

Tianmu Lake

Most of the lake region is located in Liyang City, under the jurisdiction of Changzhou.The region covers about 300 square kilometers including two national reservoirs.The average depth of lake water is 10 meters with the deepest 28 meters.The lake has been listed as one of the prestigious tourist attraction sites since 2001 and is one of the best nature reserves in Jiangsu Province.The lake is protected by national laws and has achieved the second highest rating for the drinking water quality.When visiting the lake, there are two things you might want to try: sample the tea, made from materials harvested around the lake area and mixed in with the lake water and taste the fish, produced from the lake.Around the lake, there are also many historic sites that you can visit.Have fun by joining with other visitors in fishing, picking up tea leaves and more.
