By Air

In Coquimbo there are two runways of medium importance: the runway resort The Tacas and the runway Tongoy.These tracks do not cover commercial flights, flights only getting planes and private helicopters.However there is a project to build a airport in Tongoy.

By Road

In Coquimbo through two routes of importance: Route CH-43 (which joins La Serena and Ovalle ) within the district that starts in the area of Tierra Blanca and ends at the Las Cardas (southern boundary of the Province of Elqui) and the Route 5 North, which runs from north to south the commune, from the border with La Serena, in the field of Peñuelas to the border with the town of Ovalle in the south, then continuing their journey to Santiago (see La Serena-Coquimbo Road and Autopista del Elqui).

By Bus

In Coquimbo there are three different associations that operate major transmission lines, consisting of minibuses (commonly called micros): Lisanco ( acronym of "San Juan-Coquimbo Line"), Lincosur (acronym for "South Intercomunal Line") and Liserco (acronym for "La Serena-Coquimbo Line") these same associations operate interurban lines between La Serena and Coquimbo.Collectively own a significant number of minibuses that cover a grid of routes covering much of the urban and semi-rural town of Coquimbo.There are also several smaller transmission lines formed by taxis which made trips from the city center areas of Las Torres, Sindempart, La Cantera, La Herradura, Guayacan, Tierras Blancas and San Juan Olivar Under and vice-versa.

Church of Guayacan

is a temple Catholic located in the area of Guayacan in the bay of La Herradura in the city of Coquimbo, Chile.It is the center of the village of Guayacan, that during the nineteenth century revolved around the work of the copper smelter Jose Tomas Urmeneta.Before the temple was built in the area was a small chapel to offer religious services to the locals.The employer Maximiano Errazuriz ordered the construction of a church which was erected in 1889 by a company Belgian and only has a metal structure designed by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel . The church was opened at Guayacan end of that year by the Bishop of La Serena, Jose Manuel Orrego.

Coquimbo Pampilla

is a festival that takes place on days 18, 19 and September 20 of each year (although usually lasts two days before and after these dates) on the esplanade of the same name, located in the city of Coquimbo, Coquimbo Region, Chile.During this period (even weeks before the start of the activity) installed hundreds of families with tents and vehicles in the hills.During the festivities of September in the Coquimbo Pampilla ramadas are located or inns, stalls selling local foods cooked and Chile, along with alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.Sector close to the ramadas are located several traditional games stalls.

Third Millennium Cross

The Third Millennium Cross is a monument located in the Cerro El Vigia of Coquimbo, Chile.It was built to mark the jubilee year 2000 of the Catholic Church.Its construction was started in 1999 and completed in 2001.It has 103 meters high, 52 m wide and is 201 meters.The arrival of the Spanish in the area brought a major Catholic and Christian heritage.In back the legacy of ancient fishing villages, traditional honor their patron Saint Peter and Marian cult fervor colorful popular celebrations have been held since 1669 in Andacollo Guayacan Sotaqui and now extended to the Cross of the Third Goals, through numerous brotherhoods, their songs and dances.Today the Cross is part of the formal religious calendar as well as the popular religion of the region.

Coquimbo Mosque

Guayacan and La Herradura

Costanera Avenue

is an arterial road in the city of Coquimbo, Chile which is opposite the port of Coquimbo and fishing cove which was extended in 2004 to connect to the Avenida del Mar in La Serena.As a link between Coquimbo and La Serena this route of urban type occupies the spot where once it was traveling to horse or "barouche" sector until the Faro Monumental de La Serena, but through dunes and valleys low.In December 2004 opened the 5.3 mile stretch that connects both ends of the arterial road.The modern layout incorporates bike paths, palm trees, vehicular parking, walkways and a bridge over the estuary Soap.The latter allowed to join the sector of downtown Coquimbo with beach Penuelas also allowed to recover for its size the beach tourism Changa, the beach most traditional of the city which in recent years was used primarily for crop of algae.
