Dendermonde station is a railway junction in the town of Dendermonde in 1837 together with line 53 (Mechelen - South Ghent) was opened.In 1853 followed by 57 railway connection to Aalst in 1856 with Lokeren.In 1877, 56 railroad (Dendermonde - Hamme - Sint-Niklaas) opened.In 1880 Dendermonde on line 52 (Dendermonde - Puurs) connected and in 1881 was ultimately line 60 which Dendermonde with Asse and Brussels North connects.Between station and Dendermonde station Puurs runs the tourist steam railway Dendermonde-Puurs.

Dendermonde Gothic Church

The Our Lady in Dendermonde is a Gothic church part of which is still in early Gothic style and dates from about 1300.This was the beginning of the gradual adaptation of a 11th century Romanesque church to the Gothic style.The church has since 1943 protected.The main parts of the church from the 14th and 15th century (Scheldt Gothic).The octagonal tower on the celebration where ship building and cross intersect, is 1388.The vaults of the nave and the aisles were in 1653 applied.In line with the left aisle is the Choir of Our Lady from 1497.Behind the main altar we find the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, from the baroque, from 1690-1699.

St. Alexius Beguine chapel

The St. Alexius Beguinage in Dendermonde has 61 houses around a trapezoidal courtyard deck.It exists at this location since 1288.The original chapel was built in 1914 destroyed and replaced by a less simple.Many years were here in late August the Beguine Festival held.In August 2005 the last Beguine Festival instead.They were dedicated to organizer Luc Dierick, who died after an accident.Originally these festivals have been organized to raise money for the restoration of the convent.

Park Happening Dendermonde

is a festival for young people at the end of the secondary school.Happening in the Park takes place Dendermonds park (station side).It's completely free.There is much edge animation, music and atmosphere.It is organized by the Urban Youth of Dendermonde, Dendermonde Rockt in collaboration with vzw.

M'Eire Morough

is the old Irish name of a folk festival that takes place annually in late July in Dendermonde on recratiedomein Kale Dijk.The first edition took place in 2003 and had a modest turnout.Since then, the organizers have increasingly invested in the quality of the groups making it steadily grew and developed into a diverse event which many aspects of Celtic folklore and history highlighted.The name consists of three separate pieces.

Belfry of Dendermonde

The belfry of Dendermonde dating from the 14th century and is located in the Belgian town of Dendermonde.The belfry is since 4 December 1999 as part of a group of belfries in Belgium and France included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.The tower is 40.30 meters high.The belfry of Dendermonde originally formed a corner tower of the Cloth Hall which construction began in 1337 (the left part of the building).Later, in 1377 they expanded to the actual belfry in the course of the 15th century the function of City Hall gets.
