Martini Church
The church was originally dedicated to Martin . The pseudo basilica has thirty pillars between the nave and aisles , and twelve pillars around the choir. On the pillars are frescoes depicting the saints Dominic , Francis , Luke , James the Greater , Sebastian , Adrianus , Hubertus , Rochus , Clothilde , Catherine of Alexandria , St Margaret and Apollonia of Alexandria .The Martini Church is the only medieval church in Friesland with an ambulatory . The organ from 1842 was made by Van Dam . The restoration took place from 1940-1943 to plans by Herman van der Kloot Meijburg .
City Hall Franeker
The Hall of Franeker was a town hall at Franeker in Friesland Renaissance style.The first stone was laid on 24 June 1591 . The construction lasted three years. Above the entrance is the Weapon of Friesland shown. In the stained glass windows of the first floor are 27 shields posted.The building is also listed building and is in the Top 100 of the Dutch UNESCO monuments . Of those, three in Friesland . The other two are the planetarium Eise Eisinga,in Franeker,and ir DF Woudagemaal at Lemmer.
Museum Martena
Martena museum is the city museum of Franeker in the province of Friesland . It is located in the Martenahuis Stins, a stins by the Frisian nobleman of Hessel Martena was built. Formerly called the Museum's Coopmans House. After moving the museum to house the Coopmans Martenahuis Stins, the museum took its current name.Martena museum houses the collection of the historic city of Franeker, the collection of the University of Franeker and also owns the largest collection of and about Anna Maria van Schurman . The museum is one of only three xylotheken of the Netherlands to see. This is also the 158 greatest bands of the three.The museum organizes regular exhibitions of contemporary art by young artists Frisian. Also, each year a historical exhibition.
Royal Eise Eisinga Planetarium
The Planetarium Eise Eisinga the planetarium in Franeker in the province of Friesland built by Eise Eisinga .The oldest working planetarium in the world was built between 1774 and 1781 Eisinga in his house with gable (Anno 1768). The entire building, a museum, is also national monument and is in the Top 100 of the Dutch UNESCO monuments . Of those, three in Friesland . The opposite City Hall Franeker is studied. The third monument, the largest working steam pumping station ir DF Woudagemaal near Lemmer, is World Heritage .
