How to Reach

By air

LC Busre and Star Peru offer two flights per day to and from Huancayo, flying from "Jorge Chavez" airport in Lima to the "Francisco Carle" airport in Jauja. To be safe, LC Busre will take you to their main agency in Huancayo.

By train

The Ferrocarril Central Andino the train line joining Lima to Huancayo, is the second highest railway in the world and the highest in South America. The journey on board the Train of the Andes through the heart of Peru is simply breathtaking. It is an 11-hour experience where the train reaches an altitude of 4781 m. (15,681 ft.), goes through 69 tunnels and 58 bridges and makes 6 zigzags. In 1999, the company was privatized, in 2005, Ferrocarril Central Andino renovated their passenger wagons.

By bus

Many bus companies offer services from and to Lima. Cruz del Sur is a good one. The trip takes about 8 hours in dry season, depending on traffic. Buses from Huancavelica, a five hour trip, are also available.

Cathedral of Huancayo

The Basilica Cathedral of Huancayo is the largest church in the city Peru to Huancayo . It is located west of the Plaza Constitución , neoclassical style is preserved paintings inside the Cusco School of painting . It is the seat of the Archbishop of Huancayo .This temple, known initially as Mother Temple was built on land donated prominent citizens. Its construction began on March 18th of 1799 ending March 18 of 1831 . By bull of Pope Pius XII was elevated to Cathedral in the year 1955 thus surpassing another remarkable church huancaína, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. It was later dedicated to the Holy Trinity , the same who was dedicated to the city of Huancayo in 1572 .

Parque de Identidad

Parque de Identidad A famous park in the city that is widely loved for its strange and artistic design that is popular with children.

Constitution Square

The Plaza of the Constitution of Huancayo ( Peru ), is one of the two main squares in this city along with Huamanmarca Park . Formerly known as Commerce Square but its name was changed after it is performed the swearing in of the " Liberal Constitution of Cádiz "in 1813 by the people of Huancayo.
Currently remains the commercial center of the city was surrounded by various commercial establishments including restaurants and hotels as well as the Artisan's House is a center for selling handicrafts.

Huancayo Sunday Fair

Huancayo Sunday Fair is Located on Avenida Huancavelica. Week after week are sold handicrafts, industrial and agricultural products.

Cerrito de la Libertad

Cerrito de la Libertad is A natural viewpoint from where one has a panoramic view of the city. It has a zoo of repair site.
