Nalagarh Fort Resort

Nalagarh Fort Resort is located atop a hillock with a panoramic view of the Shivalik Hills. Nalagarh Resort rises above a 20 acre estate of forest and orchards and is built on five levels, two of which have well manicured lawns. The fort and the palace of Nalagarh have a series of structures that are mostly built in the Mughal style of architecture. Nalagarh Fort is just a 5.5 hours drive from Delhi and is 1 hour north of Chandigarh. Nalagarh was the capital of the kingdom of Hindur founded by Raja Ajai Chand in 1100 A.D. It was ruled by the Chandela Rajputs. The Chandela kings were great patrons of art and architecture. Raja Ram Chander, another illustrious ruler of the same dynasty, was also a great builder who constructed the Ramgarh Fort and the town of Ram-shaher. Ramgarh Fort is an important landmark of the famous Gurkha Wars of the mid nineteenth century. Ramgarh Fort

Ramgarh Fort a great heritage hotel that dates back to as early as 350 years,Ramgarh Fort is a great tourist attraction.Constructed by Kushal Singh, the same man who built the famous Khajuraho Temples, this place is a must visit. All in all, this palace has everything that is required to feel good and relax.

Yadavindra Gardens

Yadavindra Gardens is the very famous Mughal Gardens of Pinjore are a sight to behold. These gardens are also called as Yadavindra Gardens and are a visitor’s delight. Believed to be the oldest and the loveliest in the entire northern India, these gardens were made in 17th century by Fidai Khan. The gardens were renamed as the Yadavindra Gardens in the memory of late Yadavindra Singh Maharaja of the former princely state of Patiala. As now, these gardens have been updated by the Haryana Tourism Department; various lighted fountains have been installed here to add to the beauty. Also, a restaurant for the visitors, with a little zoo is also there. Also, for the comfort of the visitors who have travelled a long way, rooms are also available. The main entrance of the garden opens to a terrace; and 7 terraces are seen to descend in to the boundary of these gardens gradually. Points of interest here also include the Shish Mahal on first floor, lyrical Hawa Mahal at the steps, arched doorways and Rang Mahal.

Gobind Sagar Lake

The tourists who visit Nalagarh can have the great enjoyment of boating in Gobind Sagar Lake. From the boundaries of the boat, one can feast the eyes upon immaculate flora and fauna and immersed in the fabulous scenery. The massive hydel dam at Bhakra formed the Gobind Sagar on river Sutlej and is named after the great Sikh Guru Gobind Singh. The Lake has emerged as a most important spot for boating and water sports. This place offers a wide range of facilities and training courses for water sports like swimming and boating. Ropar barrage is an ideal location to have boating. The boating in this lake and barrage will be an unforgettable experience. During season, boating sessions and competitions are held for the enthusiasts. It is closed during rainy seasons to prevent any untoward incident from occurring.
