How to Reach

By Air

Pantnagar Airport is the nearest airport.Which is 119 km away. Pre-paid taxi services charge about Rs 2000 from Pantnagar to Ranikhet. Pantnagar airport is connected to Delhi by daily flights. Delhi is the nearest International airport, which is 350 km away from Ranikhet. Delhi airport is well connected with major cities within the country and abroad.Taxis are available from Delhi and it takes about 9 hours to reach Ranikhet and fare is about Rs 6500.

By Train

Kathgodam Railway station, about 80 km away from Ranikhet, is the nearest railhead. Pre-paid taxi services are available from Kathgodam to Ranikhet which costs about Rs 1500. Regular train services are available from Kathgodam to Delhi and also to other cities in India.

By Bus

Ranikhet is well connected with nearby cities like Nainital (54 km), Almora (49 km) and Bareily (181 km). Tourist and State owned bus services are available from Delhi to Ranikhet, covering the distance of 350 km.

Dwarahat

Dwarahat a small town noted for its archeological and historical importance, is a nearby attraction in Ranikhet. Dwarahat has the attraction of ancient temples, Shakti temple at Doonagiri and Naithna Devi Temple are two of them. It is located in the beautiful valley of the famous Ram Ganga River. It is believed that the mythical, invaluable and rare herbs of Sanjivani with high healing and majestic powers grow inside the temple premises of Shakthi temple. The valley of Dwarahat is picturesque and is a major draw of tourists.

Mankameshwar Temple

Mankameshwar Temple in Ranikhet Mankameshwar Temple is established by the prestigious Indian Army Regiment of Kumaon. This temple is located at Pithoragarh, a nearby place of Ranikhet town and is next to the well known NarsinghMaidan (Ground).The temple is frequently visited by many devotees, specially the family members of the defense people in the Kumaon Regiment. The place surrounding the temple is very picturesque and cool weather prevails here all through the year.Nearby attractions of the temple place are Gurdwara and Shawal factories placed opposite to the temple.

Upat Kalika

Upat Kalika is located in Ranikhet not far away from Sadar Bazaar on Almora Road. Upat is credited with one of the high altitude Golf Course Link, which is a 9 hole natural course. The sporting activity here attracts many sports lovers to Upat. The golfing here offers a rare chance of hitting a powered shot to land on a distant place down the valley. The view of the Himalayan ranges and snow capped peaks from this enchanting. The area is surrounded by lush green forests densely populated with pine and oak trees. An ancient kali temple in Kalika is a nearby attraction.

Jhula Devi Temple

Jhula Devi Temple is an ancient 8th century temple located in a secluded and serene environment near Ranikhet. The main deity of this temple is Goddess Durga and it is believed that Jhula Devi blesses the devotees for fulfilling their wishes. The spectacular feature of this temple is the majestic cluster of beautifully made bells. The clangs of these bells are heard very long distance.The temple surroundings are beautiful and panoramic view of the distant mountains and peaks is enchanting scenery from here. Many devotees throng to this temple to offer their prayers. A temple dedicated to Lord Ram located nearby is an added attraction.

KRC Museum

KRC Museum is established by Kumaon Regiment of Indian Army in 1970s, reveals the historical importance of Garhwal and Kumaon regiments. It showcases valuable materials like Rani Jhasi's silver scepters, documents and pictures related to Kargil War, a wireless field telephone used in World War –II by Japanese and Chinese rifles captured in1962 war.KRC museum really helps the visitors to appreciate the bravery of Indian soldiers and their dedication in the war fields. This museum is a must see place India who love the Indian Army and bravery acts. A nearby attraction is KRC Golf Course.

Bhalu Dam

Bhalu Dam a nearby attraction of Ranikhet, is a small lake made artificially. The dam sight is blessed with natural beauties, panoramic views of the Himalayan Mountains, enchanting calmness and scenic surroundings. The small but beautiful garden nearby the dam is marvelous. The singing of birds, the cool breeze and snowcapped valleys makes the dam area a perfect holidaying spot for the nature loving tourists all around the world. Chaubatia Orchards

Chaubatia Orchards is located very close to Ranikhet and is very famous for their extensive orchards of tasty apples, peaches, plums and apricots. This place is rich in vegetation and naturally very rich in the view of a holiday maker. This place has grown to a very popular picnic spot from where one can get the awesome view of picturesque Himalayan region. Sadar Bazaar

Sadar Bazaar this is the major shopping area in the Ranikhet region. Any small and petty shops are placed densely here in this bazaar. With a many restaurants and hotels, the bazaar is the most crowded and the noisiest area of the town. Shopping loving tourists can venture out here to taste the specially made eatables and also to purchase many locally made items including special embroider clothes.
