By Air

Bagdogra airport, situated about 15 km away, is the only airport in the region. The airport is connected to New Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangkok (Thailand) and Paro (Bhutan).

By Rail

Siliguri Town- This is the oldest station in the area. Opened on 23 August 1880 during the British Raj, this station used to be the terminus for the trains coming from Kolkata, and the starting point for the world-famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway for journey to Darjeeling. It is this station where such world-renowned personalities as Rabindranath Tagore, Chittaranjan Das and Subhash Chandra Bose set their feet on their way to Darjeeling and other places.

Siliguri Junction- This station was opened in 1949 and used to be the point of departure of all trains to the north-eastern states, until the broad gauge was extended to New Bongaigaon. Siliguri Junction is the only station in India with tracks of all the three gauges used in India.

New Jalpaiguri- Opened in 1964 as a totally greenfield project 6 km south of Siliguri. Initially named New Siliguri (but later renamed New Jalpaiguri as it is located in Jalpaiguri District), this is now the most important station in the region. It is also known as NJP. This station connects Siliguri to every nook and corner of the country by railway. The city has now been expanded and included New Jalpaiguri as one of its ward of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The Darjeeling Himalayan Toy train is the main attraction of this station.With the extension of broad-gauge railway track to the Siliguri Junction station, people can now travel directly to the heart of the city without having to alight at New Jalpaiguri. This new broad-gauge track extends to the old Dooars metre-gauge track up to Alipurduar and beyond.

By Bus

The Tenzing Norgay Central Bus Terminus situated next to the Siliguri Junction Railway Station is a major stop for most private and state-owned buses in the region. The Royal Government of Bhutan also operates buses from Siliguri to its border town Phuentsholing. Jeeps also link Siliguri to neighbouring hill towns of Darjeeling, Gangtok, Kurseong, Kalimpong, Mirik, Jorethang, Namchi, etc.

The Sikkim Government buses run to various destinations of Sikkim from the Sikkim Nationalised Transport (SNT) bus station near the Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus. There is another bus terminus named P.C. Mittal Bus Stand on Sevoke Road. All buses heading for the Dooars region via the Sevoke Coronation Bridge start from here.

By Road

A new four-lane road, named Vivekananda Road, has been rebuilt connecting Burdwan Road to Mahabirsthan and the bifurcation of Nivedita Road is also going on. The major roads - Hill Cart Road, Bidhan Road and Sevoke Road were historically rail routes of the "Toy Trains" that went towards Darjeeling. Street-lighting and bifurcation of Hill Cart Road took place only in 1988 during the Nehru Cup football tournament. The Mahabirsthan area recently got a flyover, the first of its kind in the city.

National Highway No. 31 and 31A passes through Siliguri. In a recent national level project of building a golden quadrangle linking the major cities of India, the NH31 has been converted into a four-way expressway.The neighbouring countries of Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh are also connected through the road network.

North Bengal Science Centre

It is located 5 km north of the city Siliguri alongside the National Highway 31 in Matigara. This Science Museum exhibits many scientific experiments and scientific equipments. The Science city complex encloses a planetarium and a Nature Interpretation Centre. The Science City of Siliguri shows the biological diversity of the region. the visitors can also enjoy the flora and fauna existing in Siliguri range. Another attraction of the place is observing the dialect, customs and traditions and culture of the people living in North Bengal.

Madhuban Park

It is Located within the Army Cantonment area, which is 8 km from the city Siliguri. The park is well maintained and serve as a picnic spots also. It is the trail of the renowned Sukna forest. There some animals at the park house like rabbit, deer, peacock etc. A wide variety of Butterflies will surely attract the heart of the visitors not only from Siliguri but also the visitors from out side the city Siliguri.

Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary

The Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary or Reserve is located 8 km from the city Siliguri in the Sukna Forest Range. It is a vast stretch of wilderness with thick foliage stretched along the tributary of the Mahananda River, called the Panchanoi River. Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary is a natural habitat of many varieties of wildlife fauna and flora. The foliage includes thick woody trees and dense bushes. The animals include rare mountain goat, Chetal, barking dear, fishing cat, sambar, tiger, elephant and Indian bison.

Elephant Saffari and jeep Saffari are to wonderful option to enjoy the wild beauty very closely. It is a nice place for trekking nearby the city of Siliguri.There some mild to medium options for trekking lovers to meet their charm for it. Surya Sen Park

It is located at Mahakalpally in Siliguri, alongside the Mahananda River. The Surya Sen Park, a favorite picnic spot among the local people of Siliguri. The park is a eco-friendly pace as it exhibits different alternative energy source. This park in Siliguri is named after the renowned freedom fighter Surya Sen. Sed-Gyued Monastery

The Sed-Gyued Monastery, Salugara, is a sacred Buddhist destination near to Siliguri. It is located in Salugara, belonging to the Gelugpa. Siliguri. It was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in November, 2001. Here is also a researcher center for the Buddhist studies. It is believed that the original Monastery was first destroyed by Chinese when they invaded Tibet. Dalai Lama wished to rebuilt it at Salugara, Siliguri. The main attraction was the 100 feet high Stupa founded by the Tibetan Lama, Kalu Rinpoche. The stupa at Slugara, Siliguri brings out five kinds of relics and is really worth to be revered.

Hong Kong Market

For purchase of foreign goods. For people, who cannot go to Dhulabari, Nepal, this is a market of great charm - a large variety of imported goods are available at reasonable prices. The prices are cheaper by 30% in comparison to Calcutta and 40% in comparison to Delhi and Bombay.

ISKCON Hare Krishna Mandir

A temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. The ISKCON CENTRE in Siliguri is being labelled as the biggest Krishna Centre in the whole of the North East.
Lord Krishna had gone into hiding in the jungles of Baikunthapur with Rukmini at one time so Siliguri was the first choice of Iskon for making this biggest Krishna Centre in the Northeast.

Coronation Bridge

Between Salugara & Kalijhora is the Sevoka Bridge, built in 1930, a relic of British Excellence in design & architecture. While crossing the bridge on foot cut out the nature adds colour to pleasure.
