By Air

Tacna is served by the Crnl. FAP. Carlos Ciriani Santa Rosa International Airport, with flights to Lima.

By Rail

Tacna is served by a cross-border standard gauge railway to Arica, Chile.

By bus

Buses run to Tacna from Lima (20 hours) and points south along the coast, including Nazca (12 hours), as well as Arequipa.

Alto de la Alianza (Alliance High)

The Alto de la Alianza is a historical monument and landmark in the south of Peru, near the city of Tacna, where a crucial battle on May 26, 1880 took place. Bolivian forces in alliance with Peruvian forces battled against the Chilean Army, finally Bolivians retreating to the highlands, and Peruvians forced north, losing strongholds in Arica and Tacna. It is considered a day of regional holiday in Tacna, remembering the day when many Peruvians and Bolivians died defending their country. That day begun a period called 'the captivity of Tacna' that lasted 50 years.

Tourist Circuit Tarata

The circuit was developed in 2007, by Mr. David Rendon, Swiss cooperation and the Provincial Municipality of Tarata since then has a product Tarata operational and easy to access, ranging from the viewpoint of the Apacheta through Tarucachi Ancient Church, Tarata Square, the Municipal Museum, the Church, Inca Trail, Bridge Chacavira, archaeological site of Santa Maria, the Caves of Qala Qala, and the thermal baths of Ticaco.

National Railway Museum (Peru)

The National Railway Museum of Peru is located in Tacna.

Aricota Lagoon

Aricota Lagoon is located in the province of Candarave, is important in the region since in this lake is hubica Aricota hydroelectric plant. That supplies electricity to the cities of Tacna, Moquegua and Ilo. The level of Lake Aricota, has also been declining in recent décads due to the weakening of its tributaries (river Callazas and Rio Salado).
