Troyan Monastery

is a monastery in Bulgaria, founded not later than the end of the 16th century.The monastery, which is the third largest in Bulgaria is picturesquely situated on the river Cherni Osam the village Oreshak, 10 km from Troyan.It was founded around 1600 (abbot Kalistrat) as before.Tradition speaks of monks from Mount Athos who go in Wallachia in the sanctuary of the monastery - the miraculous icon of Virgin Troeruchitsa which is a copy of the old miracle-working icon in Hilandar Monastery ( XIV century ).According to a hypothesis that the monastery was founded by monks from the monastery ruins Lovech "Hawk" but it is not proven.

Museum of Traditional Crafts and Applied Arts

The Museum, located in the center of Troyan.The exhibition presents the following main topics: pottery, woodcarving, icon painting, metal art, folk costumes and textiles.The oldest exhibits are 10-9 century BC - Articles of Thracian necropolis, found near Troyan.The museum store and a unique model of the Trojan craft bazaar in the 19th century authentic pottery workshop and wine-vessel of the same time.Natural History Museum in the village of Cherni Osam unique in the country.In its three rooms are exposed 700 representatives of flora and fauna of the Central Balkan Mountains.The building of the museum visitor center is the National park "Central Balkan".

Troyan Peak

is a peak rising to 810 m in the Friesland Ridge of the Tangra Mountains in Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica.It has a steep snow free west slope and surmounts the Ruen Icefall to the north, west and south.The peak is named after the Bulgarian town of Troyan.

Livingston Island

is an Antarctic island in the South Shetland Islands, Western Antarctica lying between Greenwich Island and Snow Islands.This island was known to sealers as early as 1819 and the name Livingston, although of unknown derivation has been well established in international usage since the 1820s.Livingston is separated from the neighbouring Greenwich Island to the east and Snow Island to the west-southwest respectively by McFarlane Strait and by Morton Strait.Deception Island, located barely 18 km southwest of Livingston’s Barnard Point in the Bransfield Strait is a volcano whose caldera forms the sheltered harbour of Port Foster entered by a single narrow passage known as Neptune's Bellows.

South Shetland Islands

The South Shetland Islands are a group of Antarctic islands, lying about 120 kms north of the Antarctic Peninsula, with a total area of 3,687 square kilometres.By the Antarctic Treaty of 1959, the Islands sovereignty is neither recognized nor disputed by the signatories and they are free for use by any signatory for non-military purposes.The islands have been claimed by the United Kingdom since 1908 and have been part of the British Antarctic Territory since 1962.They are also claimed by the governments of Chile (since 1940 as part of the Antartica Chilena Province) and by Argentina (since 1943, as part of Argentine Antarctica, Tierra del Fuego Province).
