There are several ways to reach Twillingate. From the western coast of Newfoundland, it is more convenient and faster to take Route 340 from the Trans-Canada Highway into Lewisporte and follow Road To The Isles (Route 340) through towns such as Campbellton, Baytona, Birchy Bay, Boyd's Cove, Summerford, Virgin Arm and a few others until you reach Twillingate island. If you are coming from the east coast of Newfoundland, taking route 330 (Cooper Blvd. in Gander) from the Trans-Canada Highway, through Gander Bay until you reach the Route 340 intersection, then turn right and follow Route 340 to Twillingate.
Lighthouse
A must see for visitors to Twillingate is the Long Point Lighthouse; located in Crow Head on Main Street North. It's just a few minutes away from the town and has a beautiful area for looking out over the ocean to view whales and icebergs.
