How to Reach

By Air

There is no regional or international airport in Vratsa.The nearest civil/international airport of entry is located in Sofia (SOF/LBSF).

By Train

The main railway station connects the city with the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, and also with the cities of Vidin, Lom, and Mezdra.The train frequency is acceptable.An express first-class-only train runs once a day from Plovdiv (via Sofia) and back.

By Bus

The omnibus station is located near the railway station.Buses connect Vratza directly with Sofia, Vidin, Kozloduy, Lom, Oriahovo, and many other cities.Nearby villages are also connected via bus links.The bus frequency to and from Sofia is very good, from early morning to the late afternoon. In summer, there are also bus lines to some Black Sea resorts.There are also buses to Spain and Portugal, but not as often as the inter-Bulgaria connections.

By Car

Vratsa is situated on the international E-79 route, and thus easily accessed from Vidin (2 hours), Sofia (1.5-2 hours), etc.Road signs are mostly written in both cyrillic and latin.

By Taxi

The yellow cabs can be spotted very often and are rather cheap.The prices are shown on the windshield of the vehicle.Mind that there are different fees (like call fee) that are added to the regular kilometre fee.

Cave Ledenika

Cave region of Vratsa (203) fully covers the Vratsa Mountain, Mount Koznitsa part of the southern hills of predhalmiya Milin Stone and Veslets.The formation of karst is primarily related to the distribution of Jurassic and Cretaceous limestones, which have substantial thickness.Here are some more than 500 caves and chasms, between which are among the deepest and longest in the country, only in the Vratsa subregion are among some 250 caves.

Historical Museum

In 1976 the historical museum is a separate room in the southern wing of the Palace of Culture of Hristo Botev Square. And in 1980 the museum opened.The museum exhibition includes nine rooms and 3 corners.Historical Museum also serves as two medieval sites - Kurtshpatovi tower and the tower of Meschiite built by local lords or voenonachalnitsi of VI and VII century.These two sites are of interest as an architectural and historical monuments.

Skaklia Waterfall

Skaklia is among the highest Bulgarian waterfalls.Violent, sparkling and crystal water descends 140 feet.The waterfall is impressive for its grandeur and beauty.Situated in one of the most picturesque shares of Vratsa Balkan, among old green forests and inaccessible cliffs, filled day of bird songs at night by the melodic voice of crickets.In summer the water is reduced, but its spray that falls in wavy otvestnata rock refract sunlight and tourists sletobednite hours observed in several places the colors of the rainbow.The road to the waterfall starts from the Regional Hospital of Vratsa.

Ridge of the Vratsa Mountain is widely and disoriented.Rivers Euro, Black Mountain and Zlataritsa divided into three parts - Stresherski (northwest), Bazovski (east) and Beglichka (southwest).The most extensive is Beglichka share with the highest peak of the Vratsa Mountain - Beglichka mound (1481.7 m).Higher peaks in this title are Parshevitsa, Sokolets, Acute mound.The name of the title comes from Bazovskiya Base Peak Hill (1313.9 m).This rise peaks and Beech, Yavorets, Okolchitsa, bought, House finder hill.Smallest in size Stresherski is the highest peak Streshero (1215.2 m).From surrounding rivers and Euro Black.Better known peaks in this title are Bivolarski peak Toshio mound, Pawn, Genova mound, large pool, Tsenov peak.

God's Bridge

Is a beautiful karst phenomenon with height of 20 m and a width of 25 m.The thickness of the arch is 9 to 12 meters.Axis of the riverbed, it is 125 meters long.Under its canopy are small ponds, and open the walls of caves.Gradiste is partially restored by the late Roman era fortress and early Middle Bulgarian.It is more than 8O m. In the area it found many artifacts that can be seen in the Vratsa Museum.Here is the cave Ponora - just before the junction of Bridge of God, but the right side of the road to the village of UGS.It runs an underground river with small waterfalls forming a series of long narrow lakes, in places very deep.The last lake and the river ends with a siphon, which water is poured into a picturesque karst spring Jabokrek.Total length of cave is 3422 m.It can be accessed only with a professional guide and special equipment.
