Buses running around the coast pass along the Colombo to matara road every 20minutes or more frequently 24 hours per day. Train: under construction at the time of writing but when running will be a stop on the Colombo to Matara line. See Colombo fort train station departure times.

Samaru Beach House
Weligama is a small lively fishing town, about 140 kilometers from Colombo, located between Galle and Matare., It's a non-touristique town that will give you a good idea of the local life. The town has colonial houses, different temples and markets and you will find the daily fresh fish market along the coastal road. The village changed over the years, it has many shops, a new bus station, a train station and a beautiful sandy bay which is perfect for surfing and safe for swimming.

Wir waren schon oft in dieser Gegend ('Weligama - Mirissa) aber diese familäre Athomsphäre hat uns zu Tränen gerührt. Nach kurzer Zeit waren wir ein Teil dieser Familie. Hilfe (ehrliche Hilfe) wurde zu jeder Frage und jedem Problem geboten. Es ist sauber und das Essen ist ausgezeichnet (fordern sie den Koch -MERIEL- ruhig mit Ihren persönlichen Wünschen - er hat es drauf).
