How to Reach

By Air

Goa is finely linked with almost all major National and International tourist destinations through standard and recurrent flights. Tourists can board a flight to their desired destination from the Dabolim Airport in Goa near the town of Vasco da Gama. Many chartered flights connect Goa with United Kingdom and other European countries. Goa also offers international flights for some destinations in Gulf countries.

By Railways

Goa has commendable railway tracks, which connect it to the major metro cities of India. The Konkan railways have abridged the time period of the journey to Goa and have provided a fine link with other tourist destinations in India like Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) in Kerala.

By Road

Goa has an elaborate network of roadways, which connect it with major metropolitan cities in India like Bangalore, Pune, and Mumbai, through the intricate network of National Highways (NH - 4A, NH -17 and NH -17A). The bus services are frequent and easily available. They are either owned by the state (run by the Kadamba Transport Corporation), or owned privately by tourist companies or are run by the Transport Corporations of neighboring states. The buses that operate on these routes connect Mumbai, Hubli, Pune, Belgaum, Bangalore and Mangalore with Goa. The tourists can choose from a variety of buses ranging from economic to semi-sleeper and sleeper coaches to deluxe Air-conditioned buses.

By Sea

A significant range of Cruises is available which operates between Mumbai and Panaji thus covering the complete Konkan shoreline. These cruises offer the tourists a close and spectacular vision of the Konkan coastline, which is dotted with beautiful palm trees. A new cruise, which was introduced in December 2003, plies thrice a week from Mumbai to Panaji. However, it is closed temporarily during the monsoons because of rough weather and uncertain behavior of the sea.

Arambol Beach, Freshwater Lake, Baga Beach, Colva Beach

Places to Visit

Arambol Beach

The coastline lacks the palm-fringed exotic clinches of the southern Goa beaches but it has plenty of character and is pretty in its own kind of way. To reach Paradise beach , follow the track over the headland to the north. Beyond a rather insalubrious smelling, rocky-bottomed cove, the trail emerges to a broad strip of soft white sand hemmed in on both sides by steep cliffs.

Freshwater Lake

A small freshwater lake extends along the bottom of the valley into a thick jungle. Fed by boiling hot springs, the lake is lined with sulphurous mud, which, when smeared over the body, dries to form a surreal, butter-coloured shell to revitalise the skin.

Baga Beach

Located 10 kilometers to the west of Mapusa along the west coast of Goa by the Arabian Sea, the Baga Beach is part of a 30 km stretch of beach coastline. Situated between the two famous beaches of Anjuna and Calangute, this small but wonderful beach is in essence, an extension of Calangute beach.

One of the finest beaches in Goa, Baga beach begins at Fort Aguada, extends initially as Sinquerim beach, thereafter as Candolim Beach and unites into Calangute beach and then continues as Baga beach. Hereafter, the beach extends as Anjuna Beach and then as Vagator Beach, finally ending at Chapora Beach and Fort.

Colva Beach

The lively and bubbly movements of the sea waves make the sea look like it is dreamily enjoying the tickling vibrations spread by the waves riding over it. This is how you can describe the sea at Colva beach. You have to go to the Colva beach to experience the sheer laidback waters and relaxed environ. To make your visit more interesting, just gather your compilation of favorite books and head for Goa's Colva beach. You can spend the day relaxing on the shore, reading the books with just the sighs of the sea to perturb you.

A number of shops dotted in close proximity of the beaches sell clothes, junk jewelry and handicrafts from all parts of Goa as well as from other states of India. Food
Eating out can be really exciting at Arambol beach, with several good cafes along the main beach serving appetizing dishes from the cuisines of Italy, Goa and India.
